Who I Am

My name is Tori. I've been running since January 2008. Hard to believe it's been 12 years since I first took that first step.

I met my husband in 2008 and we eloped in Key West in June 2011. It was perfect. Everyone should get married on a beach. Home life is good too, and that's even more important than the wedding. I can say for certain that he is my rock. I am one of those people that is constantly changing what I want to do with my life and he keeps me grounded and sane. Love that guy.

I'm a mama to two awesome little boys. I love them and being their mom more than I ever thought was possible.

Other random things about me:

Chocolate is my #1 vice. I really, REALLY love it.

This is my cairn terrier Cricket. She is too cute. I am kind of obsessed. Just look at her snuggle with that blanket! Awww....

I was certified to scuba dive at 12 years old. If you've never done it, you should put it on your bucket list. I've completed over 88 dives since then. Hoping to hit 100 some day.

My parents have owned a boat since I was 2. The "rivah" is kind of a big deal in central VA. I've been wakeboarding since I was 14.

I am a beach girl at heart and am happiest when I am in the sun, sand and water.

I LOVE to travel. I have been to Aruba, Bon Aire, Curacao, all 3 Cayman islands, Bahamas, Mexico, Scotland, England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Las Vegas, the Florida Keys, Key West, Boston, and a bunch of other places up and down the East Coast. My goal is to see Ireland and California before I die.

I have way too many hobbies and interests, but I guess it keeps things interesting.

My first passion is art. I've been an artist for as long as I can remember. I've been drawing my entire life and learned all sorts of things in college-everything from welding, to ceramics, to printmaking, to stained glass, jewelry making, woodworking...throw something my way and I will try it.

As much as I wish running and blogging was my day job, it's not. I'm also an art teacher. I work at an elementary school and we make all sorts of random things. I love sharing what I know with the kids and seeing them succeed. It does have it's days when I am very tired though...

And that's where running comes in. Running keeps me centered. If I have a rough day at work, I go for a run when I get home and it clears my head better than anything else.
